Abraham lets out another smirk
and the man notices it.
Everyone gets up and starts
walking to the exit. Most of them walks to the man and tells things and he started
conforting them.
Abraham gets up in relief and
starts walking to the exit when suddenly someone stops him by calling his name.
He looks back and see a lean
young boy walking to him.
Boy:
“Are you Abraham? Friend of
Dev???”
Abraham:
“Yeah. Is he here???”
Boy:
“No he only comes for the monthly
meetings. Well Mr Jain asked me to take you to his office.”
Abraham:
“Jain !!!”
Boy:
“The person who did the talk
just now. Can u follow me?”
Abraham:
“See I don’t have time.. I was
thinking to leave. “
Boy:
“Dev told you were here to meet
Jain. Well if you are busy I ll inform him. “
The boy starts to leave. Abraham
stops him as he didn’t want Dev to think that he didn’t took the meeting
seriously.
Abraham:
“Ok see I ll meet him now. Its
fine”
Abraham follows the boy to Jain’s
office. The room is small and simple. Everything was kept neat and tidy and the
items on his Desk were neatly put. There was a picture of Jesus on the wall.
Jain stood up and welcomed Abraham to his room. The boy leaves the room.
Jain shouts:
“Thank you Chidambaram”
Voice of the boy on response was
heard:
“Always Welcome brother”
Abraham was anstonished at the
childish behavior of Jain. He had an inbuilt smile on his face. It was hard to
imagine his face as upset or angry. Jain welcomes Abraham and asks him to sit
down.
Jain:
“How are you Abraham. I heard
you are close friends with Dev. If you
are friend of Dev, that itself makes you a special person.”
Abraham was surprised at Jain’s
mentioning him by name. He felt terrible for behaving indecently during Jain’s
talk.
Jain:
“I found you really bored during
my talk.. I don’t get that quite often you know?”
Abraham:
“well I don’t believe in gods….
so such talks make me bored..”
Jain:
“you mentioned Gods..!! is that what you thought our group discussions were about ? So you are an atheist ….?”
Abraham:
“When I say I don’t see light…
that doesn’t mean I see darkness… that only mean I don’t see light…period”
Jain laughs:
“mmmm!!! That is a loaded
statement.. I like that”
Abraham:
“how do you know Dev?”
Jain:
“well.. I am a doctor actually…
we are workmates.. also he helped me to run this talk.. I like meeting people..
I like to guide them to their purpose.. Dev thinks I am gifted so he with some
other good friends of his sponsored to arrange this talk for mentally weak
people who had gone through some hardships in their lives.... I just motivate
them to live life peacefully with hope.. ”
Abraham takes the paper weight
from the table and says:
“mmm.. interesting… well I am
not supposed to be here at all… ”
Jain:
“well I thought that’s why you
were here too…you being an atheist and still we met… isn’t that great…do you
believe in coincidence Abraham?? ”
Abraham:
“I believe in randomness… and so
there are probabilities…”
Jain pauses for a while and
continues:
“so you don’t believe in fate, coincidence,
destiny or anything like that”
Abraham:
“Coincidence, fate are all
beliefs… can you prove them… ? silly people need something to fight for,
descriminate and make sides with… their minds are abode for religion and gods… If
religion is for peace, then why are there war in the name of it??? Why cant
your God bring peace to the believers and end these war and violence??”
Jain:“God’s job is not to stop
war Abraham.. he is inside us.. we have to find him ourselves….when you look at
that picture, what do you see Abraham”
Jain points to the picture of Jesus in the
cross
Abraham:
“I just see a picture of a man
suffering. That’s all.”
Jain:
“Why do you think he is
suffering?”
Abraham:
“It is said that he is
sacrificing his life for mankind. ”
Jain:
“What do you think about that Abraham?
Is it necessary to suffer for fellowbeings.? Why cant he just live his life.
That would have been much easier right?”
Abraham:
“According to you believers he
is the son of the so called invisible not-out-there guy. I think it is stupid.
Stupid to believe in such things. And stupid of him to die for his people. To
me these are just fables”
Jain:
See… I don’t blame you for
thinking that way. As you are an atheist… pardon me.. ..a non-beleiver… it is
casual of you to make such statements. Me on the other hand is a true believer”
Abraham: Arent we wasting each
others time…??? I should be going now."
Jain:
“See you don’t even believe in
yourself so you cant even handle your life “
Abraham:
“How did you assume that? I
believe in me. I have believed in me all my life.”
Jain:
“Like what happened today
morning..? How self believing is that? You tried to kill yourself because
someone left you??”
Abraham got upset at the very
mention of his wife
He tells Jain:
“She was my wife. And I don’t wish to talk
about it any further with you.”
Jain:
“When did you stop believing Abraham?
U can tell me… “
Abraham keeps silent. Jain sighs
and continuous by looking at the picture of jesus.
Jain continues:
“Abraham,…when I look at that
picture, do you know what I feel……..”
He stops and then continues:
“Everytime I look @ him……. I see a man with
flesh and blood. I see a man going through tremendous pain for his fellow
beings… I feel his care for those who
torture him… I feel his unconditional love for the ones who wants him dead. …“
Silence in the room. Abraham is
listening to Jain emotionally
Jain continuous:
“I feel his feelings for his
loved ones… the pain of separation..which you are going through right now… I
feel the blood pouring down the forehead and dripping through my chin..”
Jain closes his eyes and stops
for a while and continues:
“When I look at him Abraham… I
see a symbol… Symbol of love, care, affection….and submission to love…
unconditional love … 100% submission in the name of love…suffering in the name
of love…the real love jihad.. ”
Stops and looks down at Abraham…
he is still….
Abraham:
“I don’t understand this. What do
you want me to do? Become a believer and pray…submit 100% of myself ?? ”
Jain:
“no… I am not asking you to
convert to a believer……I want you to be the same Abraham as you who entered
this room a few minutes ago…100% is too much to ask for … I just want 5% of you”
Abraham looks at him not able to
understand what he is trying to say
Jain continues:
“I am asking to to give away 5%... 5% of your care to your fellowbeings….5%
of you that not everyone has seen in you for years….that 5% in you… the real
you …that’s what I want ….i am sure there is that 5% left inside…. I am sure that 5% will change your life… I am
sure you have been living a very selfish life all these years without that 5%..
that 5% of goodness…gratitude..that 5% of Jesus in you..”
Abraham looks down and realize
how worthless he was… the old beggar comes to his mind…
Jain:
“Yes Abraham… I want you to
believe in that 5% of you…”
He pauses and then continues:
“now I need to go … pls don’t
come here again if you have no belief in urself… I hope to see you again..“
Jain left the room… without
saying a goodbye… that was too much for Abraham.
Abraham feels different after listening to Jain. All he could understand was that he was so selfish all these years. On his way back he sees the beggar sitting in the ground. He looked more weak now. Abraham couldn’t walk past him this time. He bought some food for the old man and after that he felt good.
Chapter 4: The number
Abraham was really worried about the number in his dream. He
had been seeing it quite a lot of times recently. The dream was always the
same. The mysterious lady in the dream with the tattoo ..her face became more
familiar to Abraham than before… the tattooed number became more and more clear
each time he saw the dream…. He wondered Why he see the same dream again and
again. Why that number?
The same number…. 73545
Does that have anything to do with my life? Abraham thought.
Is the number anyhow related to him in some way???
Abraham
kept worrying about this. He wanted to tell this to someone… if he told Dev, he
would think Abraham is crazy and would ask him to meet some psychiatrist.
He went home and slept and woke up having the same dream…
the dream ended with the number 73545.
Abraham was so upset… he was so confused on why the number
kept haunting him.... he took a pen and looked for some paper to write the
number.. then he found the JESUS 4 U visiting card that Dev gave him…Abraham
wrote the number on the card.. 73545…
He kept staring at the number… then suddenly Jain came to
his mind… he thought about what Jain told him about his life and felt that he
should do something to make a difference…
He looked at the number and kept
thinking… he casually drew a circle on the JESUS of the visiting card… he kept
thinking how when he bought food for the old man he felt better…
Thoughts kept
coming and suddenly he felt something… He looked at the number and the word JESUS…..
Below the 7 he wrote a J…
below 3 he wrote E…
for 5 he wrote S …
for
5 ..S again…
He realized that the spelling of jesus and the number 73545 had
something in common but the 4 which he wrote as A dint make sence as it read
JESAS… he striked the A and wrote a U… and now it read JESUS…
73545
JES4S… then he wrote the correct spelling and wrote
the 4 outside the letters
JESUS 4
Maybe it should be 4 JESUS
He suddenly realized
that the 4 and U were really interconnected as together it read JESUS 4U…. it was
really connected to his fate even though he didn’t believe in it…
Abraham opened his laptop to check his email. Suddenly there
was a housefly on his keyboard.. he hit the keyboard and the fly flew away.. he
noticed that while he hit the keyboard random letters were typed on the
monitor…. He began to start deleting it when he suddenly stopped doing it in
shock… he stared at the monitor and observed the random letters….
“Kjdunfeihfgvbeleivewbf,';khjhfcukjo”
He observed that there was a word beleive which was accidently typed
on the keyboard… he wondered if it was a coincidence or something relating to
his dream…
